The Napa~Sonoma USBC Awards Two Scholarships

image

Tonight Bev Creech and Patrick Havens had the privilege of representing the Association in awarding two $1,000 Scholarships from our local Napa~Sonoma Association’s scholarship fund to two well deserving young women.

From Napa High we had Sara Curtis whose busy and active application also noted bowling as a child. An active Napa High Senior, our award was one a few she had gotten but one she showed extreme joy and was surprised at getting.

The second award recipient Kyndra Shaw was also one of the more active in the Association. A Student Representative for two years, Kyndra also represented our association at the California State Meeting. She currently is graduating from Duncan High School in Duncan, Oklahoma.

Napa City Youth Tourament starts

image

The Napa City Youth Tournament started today at Napa Bowl with around 60 bowlers ranging in age from 5 to 19. They bowled their team event today:

• Bantams bowled three games, where they normally only bowl two. But over all they did very well with both Blake and Spencer getting 97 before Blake Murray got the High Game of 132 in the third game. Hanna Villanueva had to try and keep up with her Prep sisters and got a 215 Series, but Blake kept hitting his mark and ended with a 304 High Series.
• Preps was the largest contigent and had the most varied of bowlers. Chris Milne shined with both the High Game of 141 and the High Series of 408.
• Junior/Senior High Game was 222 from Olivia Tinsley and Michael Butler bowled nice and consistent to capture the High Series with 568.

The tournament continues tomorrow with the bowlers doing Doubles and Singles. We’ve had a very good turnout and hope to fill another 20 lanes tomorrow.
